I've been in the Caribbean before , it's great...but I'll take Michigan's pristine unspoiled beaches and shorelines any day. These coves along pictured rocks are fascinating and gorgeous.

One of the fascinating caves along the Lake Superior shoreline. July 4, 2014 Five Mile Point.

This little seasonal waterfall was SO peaceful to see and listen to. Lake Superior was sleeping so I stole a very long exposure of this very special place.

My wife Shelly and our son Mitch help to provide scale to the size of this sea cave along Lake Superior shoreline.

It's interesting seeing the trees along the Pictured Rocks shoreline that are just hanging on at the very edge of the cliffs. There roots seem to stretch back anchoring them into the soil, like the birch tree seen in this photo.

This cave goes all the way through the base of Miners Castle in Michigan's Pictured Rocks National lakehshore.

Beautiful ice curtains hanging over a cave on Grand Island, Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

This ice cave I found along Lake Superior ranks very high on my "fascinating discoveries" list. It appeared as though at one point Lake Superior's water had been washing back down through the hole in the cave ceiling, creating this beautiful blue feature.
